Istanbul a very enjoyable place - Galatasaray's Kewell
Galatasaray's Harry Kewell is loving his time at the club and has found that he really enjoys the city of Istanbul.
The 31-year old is almost in career-best form with the Turkish Super Lig club after crossing from Liverpool in July 2008 and admits he is enjoying everything about being a Gala' player.
"Istanbul itself is a great city with a great lifestyle. From day one I really enjoyed living here and now that I know the place better, being my second season obviously, it's even more enjoyable," Kewell told www.australia2018-2022.com.au.
"It's difficult to compare both places (Liverpool and Istanbul), because in their own way they are special and I'm glad that I have had the opportunity to live in both.
"I knew very little about Istanbul before I got here so it was a pleasant surprise in a lot of ways.''
Kewell admits the club have begun the 2009/10 season in great fashion but knows just how long European seasons are and how much hard work there is to do.
"We have started off well but it is a season with a lot of games due to the World Cup next year, so we need to make sure that we keep fit and remain focused to stay at our very best,'' Kewell added.
Kewell and Galatasaray meet Antalyaspor at the Ataturk Stadium tonight and if they win they can go to the top of the league table - albeit maybe only briefly as the teams around them have games to play on Saturday and Sunday.
