Everton insist Anderson still has a future at Goodison Park after the Brazilian joined Barnsley on-loan yesterday.

Everton assistant manager, Alan Irvine, said: "Anderson needs some match practice and experience and he's not getting that chance here just at the moment.

"It's a good chance for him to play some regular football and, of course, it gives us a chance to watch him as we do all our loan players.

"The door certainly isn't closed for Anderson and we look forward to having him back here at Goodison at the end of next month."
