Ireland set for clear-the-air talks with Man City chief Marwood

Stephen Ireland is set for talks with Manchester City chief Brian Marwood over his future.

The News of the World says Ireland fears that he will be forced out of City this summer, but the midfielder wants to stay and fight for his place.

He is due to return from holiday in America this week and will speak with Marwood about his future at the club.

City want £15m for Ireland, Player of the Year in the 2008/09 season, but he wants to stay at the club.
