Iran and Singapore set to clash in Asian Cup qualifier

Singapore will do battle with Iran on Wednesday in Group E of Asian Cup qualifying for 2011. The Lions have almost an entire list of players to choose from with national coach Radojko Avramovic citing Sengkang Punggol defender Noh Rahman as the only unavailable player.

"Everyone is fit, and even the injured players lasted 60, 65 minutes in the friendly against Pakhtakor," said Avramovic .

"As of now, they should be alright for the match. The only problem is Noh Rahman. It's an injury from the AFF Suzuki Cup.

"But there are still a few days before the Iran match, so we'll monitor him to see how it goes."

The squad is currently in Tehran for the opening qualifier and Avramovic is wary of a strong Iranian outfit.

"Iran are a physically very strong and compact team, and have very fast, attacking individuals.

"We'll have to keep them out of our penalty box, and cut their passing game. That's what we'll work on in training."
