Ipswich Town produce shock win over West Brom

Championship club Ipswich Town have moved into the Carling Cup semi-finals with a narrow 1-0 win over top flight outfit West Bromwich Albion.

Former Manchester United midfielder Roy Keane is surely close to winning the hearts of the Ipswich fans after guiding the club into the final four thanks to a 69th minute Grant Leadbitter penalty at Portman Road.

Only 11,300 fans showed up to watch their Tractor Boys who more than matched the output of the Baggies and finally got their reward under controversial circumstances when Carlos Edwards was brought down on the edge of the area by Graham Dorrans, prompting the referee to point to the spot.

Leadbitter stepped up and finished neatly to help his side through to the semi-finals where yet another Premier League club (Arsenal, Birmingham or West Ham) awaits.
