Ipswich Town boss Paul Jewell will cut down the size of his squad in January, while trying to bring in "quality" signings. Jewell, who has been told he will have funds to spend in the new year, has brought in 12 players since the end of last season.
"I think we need to trim the squad a little bit," he told BBC Radio Suffolk.
"We've got lots of numbers but we'd like a bit more quality. Sometimes you have to trim it to move forward."
The Town boss will be in the market for a central defender when the transfer window opens, admitting he is "light in that area at the moment".
