Ipswich keen on teenage strike star Wickham

Ipswich Town manager Roy Keane is confident the club will hold on to teenage strike sensation Connor Wickham.

The 16-year old is currently too young to sign a professional contract but is a part of Keane's first team at Portman Road and the former Manchester United star believes Wickham will sign with the club when he turns 17 in March.

"I've had talks with Connor's father and I get the impression that he sees the boys future with us. I will keep working on it," Keane said.

If he gets his wish, Keane will beat off interest from Premier League clubs Tottenham, Arsenal and Chelsea for the new kid on the block who netted a hat-trick for England's U17s last month.
