Ipswich keen to deal in Tottenham's Khumalo

Ipswich Town are believed to be showing interest in a loan deal for Bongani Khumalo.

The 26-year old South African centre-back has struggled for game time since arriving at White Hart Lane from Supersport United in 2011 and has recently been training with the Tractor Boys.

Khumalo, who has spent time with Preston North End, Reading and PAOK over the last few years, played in a preseason friendly against Crawley Town and impressed manager Mick McCarthy.

"I was pleased with Bongani. I thought he did alright. He's very quick and athletic. I thought he did okay. I'm pleased with him," he told Green Un.

"We're not looking to buy or sign him, we're looking at a possible loan deal."
