Ipswich Town boss Paul Jewell has denied making an offer for Rangers midfielder Maurice Edu, reports BBC Sport. The 26-year-old US international wants to leave Ibrox and Rangers boss Ally McCoist claimed on Monday that the Championship outfit wanted to sign him.
But Jewell told BBC Radio Suffolk: "I don't know what the story is with Maurice Edu.
"It's been reported that we've made him an offer - that isn't true."
Speaking following Ipswich's 1-0 win at Watford on Tuesday evening , Jewell continued: "There's speculation linking us with a number of players.
"I'm not prepared to talk about speculation but we are in the market for players and we know we have to improve."
