Ipswich boss Paul Jewell insists Aston Villa have not made a bid for Aaron Cresswell.

The fullback has been linked with Villa Park.

Jewell said: "We've had no contact from Aston Villa, other than the gentle enquiry that I told you about three weeks ago, and obviously they've been at our pre-season games.

"There's no interest in any of our other players at the moment. That could change but I'm more interested in bring people in than moving people out.

"But in football the natural way that things happen is that some players will leave the club. We don't need to sell, we've a very small squad as it is and we want to try and improve it rather than deplete it."
