Ipswich aim to beat Hull for Campo

Hull City face competition from Ipswich for released Bolton Wanderers midfielder Ivan Campo.

At 34 he has been told he can leave the Reebok Stadium and last night was in the directors' box at Ipswich, watching their pre-season friendly with West Ham.

"He has played at the highest level for many years and is someone I feel could do a good job for us," Ipswich boss Jim Magilton told the club's website.

"He's got bags of experience and could come into the club and really help our younger players but we haven't got that far down the line yet.

"We will sit down and have a chat and if there is something we can sort out, then great. If not, we move on."
