Inverness striker Rooney confident of top six

Inverness Caledonian Thistle striker Adam Rooney insists the Highlands club will finish in the top six of the Scottish Premier League this despite and 11-game winless streak.

The 22-year old Republic of Ireland forward scored twice as Caley drew 3-3 with St Mirren on Saturday but is of firm belief that Terry Butcher's men can improve on their current position of fifth.

"I know people are saying it's a bad run," he told BBC Scotland.

"But we had Rangers twice, away at Celtic and games against other in-form teams, so we're still looking at the teams above and not behind.

"We're all disappointed as we didn't play as well as we can do in the second half.

"When you go ahead twice in a game, you feel that you should go on and win it.

"But we've made the 30-point barrier now, which was a big aim for us.

"It's taken longer to get there than it should have, but we're there now. Hopefully we can kick on now."
