Inverness Caley strike Arsenal partnership as part of Roberts deal

Inverness Caley are swooping for Arsenal striker Phil Roberts.

Terry Butcher has revealed his delight after the Highland club set up a loan partnership with Arsenal that will see youth striker Roberts signing for the SPL side until January.

Caley Thistle have agreed a deal to take a number of the Premier League big guns' young players on loan.

That partnership has already begun to benefit Inverness after Gunners boss Arsene Wenger allowed the 18-year-old to head north last week and the deal is set to be completed in time for Friday's transfer deadline.

Butcher said: "Arsenal have agreed to let Philip sign for us until the next transfer window and we're very grateful for their help.

"This is the beginning of a partnership with Arsenal that will help their younger players gain first-team experience with Inverness Caley Thistle this season and in the future."
