Arsenal's German players have helped steer their country towards an easy 3-0 win over the Faroe Islands on Tuesday.
It took Germany just over 30 minutes to open the scoring with Gunners defender Per Mertesacker heading the ball home from a yard out.
New record signing Mesut Ozil, who made his way to the Emirates on transfer deadline day, made it 2-0 in the 74th minute when he converted a penalty following Atli Gregersen's challenge on Thomas Muller before the latter grabbed a third with six minutes remaining.
The win gives Germany a five-point cushion on second-place Sweden in Group C and Die Mannschaft will ensure qualification if they can defeat the Republic of Ireland next month.
