Internacional star Sandro: My Tottenham dream has died
Internacional midfielder Sandro admits hopes of a move to Tottenham is now unlikely.
Although Harry Redknapp is expected to try and resurrect the deal in the summer, the Internacional midfielder does not want any more distractions after months of speculation.
"There were negotiations between Internacional and Tottenham and I did not want to talk about it," he told FinalSports.
"Today, I am an Inter player and it gets kind of boring talking about another team and a possible transfer to another league. Of course, there is a possibility that I will leave in the middle of the year but I do not know how things are with Inter and Tottenham. What matters now, is the window is closed and I'm here at Internacional.
"I am not thinking about what will happen in six months. I have to think about today. And today, for me, is Internacional. I do not know any more and I think this story has to die for me.
"So I can be thinking 100% about here at Inter.
"To me, the story about Tottenham has died.
"So, let's talk again in the middle of the year if it will ever happen. I cannot be thinking 'Tottenham, in six months'.
"I cannot do that because it can lower my level of performance and they wouldn't want me anymore."
