Inter Milan's Ibrahimovic risks knee surgery

Inter Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is facing knee surgery.

The 26-year-old has been in Sweden this week for therapy on an injury that has plagued him all season.

"I spoke with his therapist. He said that the situation is improving every day," announced Professor Hakan Alfredson.

"Zlatan is undertaking the specific programme outlined to him by Inter and at the moment things are going well."

However, the Scandinavian specialist warned that should Ibra's progress stall he would recommend surgery to clean the area around the tendon.

"If he continues like this it won't be necessary, but we will only know the truth when Zlatan begins to play again.

"Then, if the knee still hurts him, we'll review the situation."
