Inter Milan striker Hernan Crespo is confident they can beat Liverpool at Anfield tonight - if they stop Steven Gerrard.

The former Chelsea striker said: "Gerrard is the engine of the team, the one that makes the crowd cheer.

"He is the heart of the side. It's important we don't let him influence the match too much.

"I am not surprised that Torres has been so good for Liverpool because he is a player with favourable characteristics for English football. When he played for Atletico Madrid he stood out because of his ability and he is making a big difference again with Liverpool.

"We know he's back from injury and we are aware he will be the biggest threat.

"Even though they have a lot of current problems, Liverpool are a great team in Europe."
