Inter Milan midfielder Esteban Cambiasso admitted their 3-0 victory over Lazio was "crucial" with Roma also winning last night.

The Argentina international said: "For us it was critical to win and earn three points at home, important in the fight for the Scudetto. We produced an excellent performance, which we needed in such an important game."

On Ollie Dacourt's knee injury, Cambiasso added: "No-one is happy when seeing a teammate injured, especially something as severe as what Dacourt has suffered. But everyone in the squad is capable of playing in the first team and that's important for our title defence."
