Inter Milan's Adriano bounces back with Sao Paulo double

Inter Milan striker Adriano bounced back from a week of controversy to score twice for Sao Paulo on Wednesday night in the Copa Libertadores against Audax of Chile.

"The entire world has said their bit on Adriano, I accept criticism, but it's about time I told my side of the story," said Adriano afterwards. "What was going through my head? I only needed a little more tranquility.

"Those inside the club know what really happened. President Juvenal spoke with me - he has done it in the past with other players - and I am not angry with anyone.

"Everyone has their difficult moments and I am still living mine. When things don't go as we want we are sad. But today, thanks to God, I have scored."

Asked about Adriano's performance last night, Inter president Massimo Moratti warned: "I hope Adriano knows that he is playing a decisive card and mustn't make anymore mistakes. I don't exclude him, but I don't guarantee him either."
