Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic believes victory over Tottenham will be crucial in their Champions League group battle.

Inter defeated Spurs 2-1 on Tuesday night.

"It's a crucial win for us," Perisic told UEFA's official website.

“We fought until the last minute and showed that we have character, we gave everything. Our team was in the Champions League for the first time, it wasn't easy.

“We can get out of the group, but we need to take it one game at a time."
