Inter Milan win has Mourinho dancing

Inter Milan left Jose Mourinho dancing a jig after their last gasp win over Udinese last night.

Inter Milan left Jose Mourinho dancing a jig after their last gasp win over Udinese last night.

Wesley Sneijder's stoppage-time slide-rule strike gave Inter a 2-1 victory over Udinese after Dejan Stankovic and Antonio Di Natale strikes.

“It was a very important goal in stoppages, so the game was over. I think the team deserved it as they played well,” he said of the 2-1 win over Udinese.

“I have a side that right now has a few difficulties, as Thiago Motta is out, [Wesley] Sneijder just got back and [Diego] Milito went off.

“Lucio also limped off, but right to the end they played very well against a great team that could also have won with [Antonio] Di Natale in stoppages.

“I am doubly happy with this goal, as it gives three points and takes the pressure off the referee for denying a stonewall penalty. I am happy that there won't be controversy over the referee now.”

After defeat to Sampdoria and a 0-0 draw with Rubin Kazan, Mourinho credits their improvement to the return of midfield pair Sneijder and Thiago Motta.

“Sneijder has given us the play between the lines that we were missing at Marassi and Kazan,” he explained.

“Great teams need quality, fundamentally, and I point to Sneijder and Thiago Motta because they are different to all the others in our midfield.

“We were missing them in those two games. It's true that tonight it was character and the belief to the very end that won this match.

“We had luck too, so did the referee, you could say Udinese were a little unfortunate to lose at the 93rd minute, but my side worked hard and in my view deserved the victory.”
