Inter Milan hope to drive down the cash component of a deal for Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure with a swap offer.
Inter coach Roberto Mancini yesterday declared he wanted to bring Toure to the San Siro this summer.
Corriere dello Sport says the Neazzurri aim to drive down City's €25 million valuation by including Mateo Kovacic in their offer.
The young Croatia midfielder is rated highly across Europe, but has struggled to win over coach Mancini this season.
Mancini said: "Yaya belongs to City, but if this move happens... I think it would be wonderful for Italian football too, as we need champions like this.
"We will try and then see what happens."
