Inter Milan must now sign Barcelona midfielder Rafinha.
The Brazil international joined Inter in January on-loan to the end of this season.
Rafinha's deal included the option to be signed permanently should Inter qualify for the Champions League - which was achieved on Sunday after victory over Lazio.
Sport says Inter's top four finish now triggers a €35m option in the loan agreement.
For his part, Rafinha has made it no secret he wishes to stay with Inter next season.
