Gazzetta dello Sport says Inter coach Roberto Mancini is a big fan of the Italy international, who is unhappy with Roma's latest £1.4 million-a-year offer to renew his deal.

If Roma fail to secure Aquilani, Mancini will push Inter's board to bid for the midfielder. Inter president Massimo Moratti will back the proposal as he is keen to bring more Italian talent to the Serie A champs.
