QPR have failed with an opening offer for Inter Milan striker Luc Castaignos.
The Mirror says Mark Hughes has had a £3million bid for Castaignos rejected.
Liverpool, Newcastle United and Tottenham have also shown an interest.
West Ham United are keen on a season-long loan, but QPR want to buy Castaignos outright and are set to improve their offer.
