Inter Milan striker Luc Castaignos has been banned for a spitting episode.

Castaignos has been handed a three-match ban using video evidence after he spat at Bologna's Andrea Raggi.

The striker was caught on camera spitting in the direction of Raggi during the final minutes of Friday's 3-0 home defeat to Bologna.

"There can be no doubt over the intention of the reprehensible gesture and whether it 'hit its target' is irrelevant in disciplinary terms."
