Inter Milan striker Eder hails Conte influence on Italy win

Inter Milan striker Eder was delighted to be part of Italy's victory over Spain.

Eder hailed coach Antonio Conte as Italy swept Spain aside 2-0.

The Azzurri booked a Euro 2016 quarter-final against Germany.

“This belief started on May 18 when we began training for the Euros. The Coach always made us believe that if we worked like this and did what we needed to, we could trouble anyone," the Inter striker told Sky Sport Italia.

“We prepared for this match by hitting them a bit higher than usual and I think it was a great performance for a deserved victory.

“We often spread the play wide, the way the Coach likes, and it's a shame on my chance that I hit David De Gea. The important thing is to leave the field aware that you've given all you possibly could.

“Italy do their talking on the pitch and that is what we are doing now."
