Inter Milan striker Mario Balotelli has received a motoring fine.

Balotelli has been fined €38 for repeatedly honking his horn on Milan's Corso Buenos Aires, according to Il Giorno.

The incident occurred at 1:30am as Balotelli tried to get the attention of his friend who lives in a flat along the street.

Disgruntled neighbours soon called the police and Super Mario had to plead with the attending officers.

"I had to say something to my friend," Balotelli is quoted as saying. "Are you going to fine him, as well?"

Undeterred by Balotelli's status, Il Giorno reports that, with 'a great deal of distance', the officers wrote the 19-year-old a ticket and told him to go home.
