Barcelona will face the one that got away tonight in Inter Milan striker Mario Balotelli.

AS says as a junior player, Balotelli was invited for trials with Barca and impressed coaching staff so much he was offered a contract on the spot.

Everything appeared ready to be rubberstamped before older brother Corrado began demanding extra fees, it is alleged.

Barca management were stunned and decided to withdraw the offer. Balotelli returned to Italy before he was eventually signed by Inter Milan in 2006.
