Inter Milan to strengthen Man Utd and weaken Man City with Sneijder, Tevez deals

Inter Milan are closing in on Manchester City captain Carlos Tevez.

The Mail on Sunday says Tevez, Manchester City's Argentina striker, could be on his way to outgoing Italian champions Inter Milan for £40million.

And the Milan club will try to offset the cost of that deal by selling Holland midfielder Wesley Sneijder for around £30m, with Manchester United a possible destination.

Inter failed to prise Tevez, 27, out of City in January but owner Massimo Moratti has maintained his interest in the striker he believes could re-establish his club at the top in Italy, where deadly rivals AC Milan are on the point of becoming champions.

Tevez arrived at City from United on a five-year deal two years ago but has been expected to leave this summer since a fall-out with the club before Christmas.
