Inter Milan skipper Zanetti hopes Coppa win silences critics

Inter Milan skipper Javier Zanetti hopes victory last night has silenced their critics.

Inter defeated AS Roma 1-0 in their Coppa Italia semi-final first leg clash.

"It's an important win in a difficult arena. We were coming off a tough period and had to give this response," he said.

"I think tonight we played a great game against a very talented side. It's never easy to win in Rome."

This week Zanetti hinted he'd welcome Jose Mourinho's return to the Inter bench, but cast aside questions on that subject.

"I always said Leonardo is doing a great job. We must ignore all that other talk and prepare for another splendid performance on Saturday."
