Inter Milan skipper would welcome move for Tottenham's Modric

Inter Milan captain Javier Zanetti is keen for Tottenham playmaker Luka Modric to pitch up at the San Siro. The Croatian star has impressed during Tottenham's thrilling UEFA Champions League campaign, which saw a 10-man Spurs side lose 4-3 at the San Siro before they beat Inter 3-1 at White Hart Lane to top Group A.

Modric has another three years to run on his contract so the Nerazzurri would have to pay big money for the 25-year-old.

"We faced Modric twice in this season's Champions League and I think he's a great player," Zanetti told Sky Sport Italia.

"Technically, he brings an interesting dimension. He's also still young.

"And I say this even though I prefer to talk about the players who are already here because we are still in the running for all competitions."
