Inter Milan midfielder Gaby Mudingayi is a reported target for Celtic.
The 32-year old Zaire-born Belgium international is out of contract this summer with his impending free agent status alerting the Hoops.
The Daily Record suggests, however, that Celtic will have competition from the likes of Palermo, Genoa, Sampdoria and Chievo Verona when the summer transfer window opens.
Mudingayi initially joined Inter on loan from Bologna in the summer of 2012 before joining the Nerazzurri permanently at the beginning of the season.
He has previously played for Lazio, Torino and Belgian side Gent after beginning his career with Union Saint-Gilloise in Belgium's lower divisions in 1998.
