Inter Milan are weighing up a January bid for Hamburg midfielder Rafael van der Vaart.

With injuries to midfield pair Patrick Vieira and Dejan Stankovic, Inter coach Roberto Mancini will hold crunch talks with directors Marco Branca and Lele Oriali about the prospect of bringing Dutch ace Van der Vaart to the San Siro in January.

Inter president Massimo Moratti is willing to make £10 million available to push the deal along.
