Inter Milan have joined the battle for Sampdoria striker Mauro Icardi. The former Barcelona junior was watched by Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini on the weekend and is also being linked with Juventus.

Inter chiefs see Icardi as the brightest young available talent in Serie A and have made a concrete move to open talks with Samp over a fee for the Argentine.

Samp are insisting on €15 million-plus before even considering opening talks.
