Inter Milan president Moratti won't count out Roma

Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti won't count out nearest rivals Roma in their Scudetto battle.

"We are hoping to finish the season on form," Moratti insisted. "It's necessary to be on good form because there are lots of tough games ahead.

"It's a long season, but we have to grit our teeth and fight to the end. Both Roma and ourselves have been the victims of injuries - it's not an excuse but just a statement of fact.

"Unfortunately these injuries often come to important players and so it isn't possible to replace them.

"It's not for us to cry over the absentees but to try and use it as an extra motivation."

Moratti certainly isn't taking the threat of Roma lightly and felt they were unlucky in their 2-0 defeat against Manchester United last night.

"Even though Roma had lots of players missing, I thought they would get a better result," he explained. "They were unlucky but at the moment the English are very strong.

"However, make no mistake, they aren't out yet and they have already shown against Real that they can prevail.

"The Giallorossi lost out to top opposition even though they played well and so I don't think it will stall them - they are still a team to be feared."
