Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti has told Real Madrid they can have Douglas Maicon - in exchange for Sergio Ramos. Corriere dello Sport says Real coach Jose Mourinho was willing to part with Marcelo as part of a deal for Maicon. But Moratti is insisting on Ramos.
Ramos and Mourinho have not always seen eye-to-eye and the coach rates Maicon as the superior right-back.
Mourinho sees Ramos as a more natural centre-half, but his first-choice pairing of Ricardo Carvalho and Pepe could see Ramos spending much of the season in the stands should a deal for Maicon be struck.
