Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti says a deal for Liverpool midfielder Javier Mascherano is unlikely.

New Inter coach Rafa Benitez wants to bring his former Reds midfielder to Italy.

But Moratti says: "Mascherano is a strong player, but it is unlikely that he will arrive.

"He simply costs too much and it is not certain that Liverpool will sell."

Barcelona are also chasing the Argentina World Cup captain.
