Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti was pleased with the impact of their summer signings in victory over Cagliari.

Ricky Alvarez came off the bench to change the game in Inter's favour.

Moratti said: "I did see improvements, as after the opening goal the team did begin to pass the ball around neatly.

"Ricky Alvarez and Jonathan did very well, as did Philippe Coutinho who is like a new signing considering he hasn't made his mark yet. This shows we were right to pursue a certain strategy of investing in youth."
