England coach Fabio Capello is being linked with a return to Italian football - at Inter Milan.

La Stampa says Inter president Massimo Moratti is prepared to explore the prospect of bringing former AC Milan coach Capello back to the San Siro - should Jose Mourinho choose to leave in the summer.

There remains hope inside Inter that Capello will decide to leave his £6 million-a-year England position after the World Cup to return to a day-to-day coaching job.

Capello came close to joining Inter five years ago and recommended Patrick Vieira and Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Moratti.

It's a question of whether Moratti is willing to wait until July - should Mourinho leave at the end of this season.
