Inter Milan president Moratti explains Motta sale

Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti has explained selling midfielder Thiago Motta to PSG.

The club sold the midfielder to Paris Saint-Germain yesterday even though they were asked not to by boss Claudio Ranieri.

“Ranieri was right because Motta is certainly an important player for the way we play, but that didn’t stop the sale,” the President said outside of his offices in Milan on Wednesday.

“We had to sell Thiago Motta because that is what the player wanted. It was a good operation for us.”
