Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti is happy with Leonardo's reaction to their double defeat last week.
Leonardo said he'd probably fire himself after the costly defeats to Milan and Schalke, but would not accept a directorial role in future.
"He was smart to say that, because otherwise it would look as if a defeat means he should give up coaching and become a director. It was an intelligent statement," said Moratti.
"There is no agreement for him to become a director once his experience as Coach is over. He has a contract as a Coach.
"He made a joke about firing himself, not to create controversy, but as usual people try to read into it. It was a cute joke."
