Inter Milan president Moratti defends Mourinho over latest media barrage

Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti has defended coach Jose Mourinho over the latest round of criticism from the Italian media.

"I am not worried," assured President Moratti. "I consider the 3-1 defeat in Bergamo as a missed match in the fixture list, as I don't think we really stepped on to the field at all.

"Are there problems in the locker room? I do not need to reassure anyone, as our fans are mature enough to understand there is the right climate between the squad, the Coach and the directors, so there is nothing alarming about it.

"Despite the fact he is getting results in every competition, Mourinho has been subjected to attacks that verge on the indecent from some newspapers and those with 'nostalgia' for previous campaigns.

"He is not accustomed to life at Inter and this sort of attack, but if we talk about pressure then I doubt he feels any from Juventus for first place."

Moratti added: "Mourinho can do whatever he considers to be right. He will clarify the reasons and I let him do his work, as I have faith in him and the players."
