Inter Milan president admits Chivu deal unlikely

Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti admits a deal for Roma defender Cristian Chivu has fallen through.

"I don't perform miracles," smiled the club patron who has refused to match Real Madrid's £13m offer for the defender.

"The situation is in stasis with all three teams interested in Chivu pulling out because they don't want to spark a bidding war.

"We believe we made the right offer and the most we possibly could. We are leaving this race, Chivu and Roma are free to do what they want."
