Inter Milan have opened talks with Gremio for wing-back Mario Fernandes.

Negotiations kicked off last week between the two clubs as Inter seek to bring Fernandes to Italy at the end of this season.

Zero Hora says officials from Inter and Gremio met on Friday, with Fernandes' agent, Jorge Macho, also present, he later revealed: "If Gremio are reluctant to sell, Inter have told me they will not put any extra pressure on them."

Gremio rate the 19 year-old at £10 million and Inter sources say they hope to close an agreement in the coming days.
