Inter Milan open Chelsea talks over Torres loan

Inter Milan are locked in talks with Chelsea over a loan deal for Fernando Torres.

The London Evening Standard says Chelsea have already decided to get rid of the former Liverpool forward, who has scored just 44 goals since his British record transfer from Anfield in 2011.

Inter had already confirmed their interest in Torres and are now in negotiations over taking him on loan. However, they are not prepared to pay his salary in full and are hoping Chelsea will agree to pay some of his wages.

The west London club have agreed to such a deal before when players like Hernan Crespo and Juan Sebastian Veron had also struggled to make an impact at Stamford Bridge.
