Former Inter Milan and Bayern Munich star Lothar Matthaeus has been named new coach of Bulgaria.
Matthaeus has signed a one-year contract with the option of another two years.
Bulgaria have lost their opening two Euro2012 qualifiers to England and Montenegro.
