Inter Milan legend Marco Materazzi sees Pescara youngster Marco Verratti as Andrea Pirlo's heir.

At 33, the Euros could be Juventus midfielder Pirlo's last international tournament.

Materazzi said: "Pirlo is extraordinary, someone like him will never be born. The issue will then be to adapt. But I think there is Verratti, one who can do really well.

"Even if he is charged with responsibility for being the new Pirlo, which would be impossible."
