Inter Milan's teenage fullback Davide Santon is chasing a place in Italy's World Cup squad.

"We are beginning a new campaign to win with many objectives, but only one imperative: to do well. I mean that as a team, but above all as an individual," said the 18-year-old.

"I have set my own personal target of putting together more than the 20 starts I had last term and to earn myself an Azzurri jersey for South Africa 2010."

Santon added: "We have a great squad and will see how we go. Do Inter need more signings? It's not up to me to say, but I do see we already have a very strong team."
