Inter Milan fullback Douglas Maicon insists he wasn't surprised by the ability of Tottenham winger Gareth Bale last night. Bale had a huge influence on Spurs' 3-1 Champions League win over Inter.
"We gave it a go, but Tottenham were also good at making the most of the home advantage," said Maicon.
Maicon was turned inside out by Bale at San Siro and even more so in London.
"Anyone who knows English football knows who Bale is. He put in a great performance. All of Tottenham did and with the third goal they sealed it.
"Now we have to immediately look ahead to the next match. We must beat Twente and are working towards that."
